University of South China (hereafter USC or the University), is a comprehensive public university with a history of about 60 years, co-funded by Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, State Administration of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense, China National Nuclear Corporation, China Nuclear Engineering Group Corporation, and the People’s Government of Hunan Province.
The University was merged in 2000 by Hengyang Medical College, founded in 1958 and administrated by Hunan Province, Central South Institute of Technology, in 1959, and the 6th Nuclear Institute, in 1962, both administrated by the former Ministry of Nuclear Industry. One of the yiben, or first tier universities on the Mainland, China, USC enrolls students from the Mainland, Hongkong, Macao, Taiwan and other parts of the world. The University is home to over 2,500 faculty members, and over 37,000 full-time students

History of University of South China
In 1958, Hengyang Medical College (HMC) was founded in Hengyang, a medium-sized city in the central China’s Hunan Province. In 1959, Hengyang Institute of Mining and Metallurgy (HIMM) was founded, bordered by HMC to the north. In 1979, HIMM was renamed Hengyang Institute of Technology (HIT) . In 1993, HIT was renamed Central South Institute of Technology (CSIT). In 2000, The University was merged by HMC and CSIT (with English translation of its Chinese name as Nanhua Unviversity (NHU)). In 2007, The University changed the English translation of its name from Nanhua University to University of South China (USC).

Affiliated hospital
University of South China covers a total area of 200 hectares, USC comprises 26 colleges and schools, four affiliated hospitals, and 21 teaching hospitals.
Each hospital are equipped with state of the art machines and having 10000 beds wards. USC boasts more than 1800 full-time teachers on its main campus, and nearly 3000 clinical teachers in its affiliated hospitals, among whom 640 with professor or chief physician titles, and 1975 with associate professor or equivalent titles

The School of Medicine has established extensive relationships with many well-known universities in the world. Many students including undergraduate shave joined in various summer programs in Europe. We have more than 300 international students from approximately 50 different countries.
Scholarships
Outstanding international students in the school can enjoy the “Hunan Provincial Government Scholarship for Foreign Students”. undergraduate scholarship is ¥15,000 every year for those students Who achieve 80% academic score and maintain 80 % above attendance in all Subjects.
One thing to be noted that the scholarship for international students mentioned above adopts a ANNUAL REVIEWING SYSTEM. Those who have passed the reviewing with good performance in their previous academic year can continue to enjoy their next year scholarship.

Hostels
University of South China has designated dormitories for boys and girls having outstanding dorm rooms with cozy and Standard accommodation and living facilities shared with two people. Basic facilities include beds, wardrobe, computer desk, chairs, Air Conditioner, bathroom, water heater, central heating system etc. With such well-equipped facilities and good accommodation management, students will have a colorful and meaningful life here.
Halal Food
Inside the campus USC have different student canteens with delicious Chinese food, including Muslim canteens. All these canteens provide lavish dishes to cater for taste of international students. There is a special cafeteria for international students, a restaurant for foreign experts, and a Muslim restaurant serving delicious meals. Every canteen provides students with hygienic, tasty and nutritious food. In addition, international students can choose to cook in the dormitory. There is a shared kitchen at each floor in the dormitory equipped with all basic necessities and electric appliances.
Part Time Jobs
Based on Chinese labor laws and regulation, international students may work part time jobs outside University after getting formal permission from their university. in this regard University of South China has already allowed all international students to work in leisure time to fulfill their needs.
Weather
As far as weather is concerned for Students, the temperatures in summer often reach an average of 26 degrees Celsius with very normal levels of humidity. The summer period for Hengyang/Changsha begins around mid-May and ends with August. Autumn comes to Changsha during September and ends in early November. Winter is normal according to the other cities of China.

- After issuance of admission notice all fees must be paid in university account and management fee, admission processing fee of amount 14,000 RMB must be paid immediately (non-refundable) and the remaining amount shall be paid before commencing of classes.
- Hostel fee, visa, medical and insurance fee is not included in 1st year fee package due to online classes and shall be paid accordingly upon arrival.
- All fee once paid is non-refundable.
- Admission process, Airport pickup, settling of the student in university (including hostel allotment) and other registration process services will be provided by the company responsible for the admission process.
- Air ticket, stationery and food expenses are not included in the fee package.
- Student will follow the rules, regulations and teaching pattern of University, MOE China and PMC.
- Students must clear HSK-3 or HSK-4 as per university requirement in 1st year to promote in the Medical study of 5 years.
